In September 2007 Jon Powers of Freedom was welcomed into the Professional Firefighters of Wolfeboro Local 3708 after completion of his probation period with the Town of Wolfeboro. Jon joined the Wolfeboro Fire- Rescue in February 2007 to fill a vacancy that was left when Firefighter Dan Keller took a job with Bow Fire-Rescue. He comes to us as a Career Firefighter and an EMT-B with five years experience as a call firefighter with the West Ossipee and Freedom Fire Departments. He also works part time with Med Star Ambulance and is on the King Pine Ski Area, Ski Patrol.

Since being hired Jon has completed his Associates Degree in Fire Science from NHCTC Laconia. He is assigned to group 1 and continues with the department training and orientation program and completing his EMT Intermediate course.

( Sept. 8, 2007 ) ‘Live’ Fire training at the Sub- Station. Again this year the New Hampshire Fire Academy brought up the Class A ‘live’ burn trailer. Both Wolfeboro and Tuftonboro Firefighters participated in this training.

( Nov. 11, 2006 ) Live fire training at the Sub-Station. The New Hampshire Fire Academy sent their Class A burn trailer up for our members to get first hand training with ‘live’ fire.
